What Is “Clean”?
One would think that there would be a Standard for “Clean”. Surprisingly it is an area of contention among carpet cleaners. The typical response I get to this question is:
“Whatever makes the customer happy.”
How this translates for many cleaners is:
“Clean as fast as possible to just make it look clean”
How it translates for the consumer is:
“It looks clean and they said it was clean therefore I “believe” it is clean”
After all, “They are the professional.”
SO, WHAT IS CLEAN?
I would define clean as the absence of foreign matter, such oils, dust, dander, sand, hairs, etc and biological organisms, ie bugs, bacteria, mold, etc.
Can a professional cleaner get a carpet absolutely clean? Unfortunately no. Its impossible to clean even a hard surfaced floor to that standard, even if it was bleached.
What I can do is clean it to the best of my ability with the best methods and equipment available, removing the maximum amount of foreign matter, leaving your carpet as clean as possible. Of course, this takes time and effort. Many cleaners book many jobs a day so they will not take that extra time to do their best.
Their “clean as possible” is NOT “as clean as possible”.
I’ve decided that with Happy Carpet Cleaners I will take the extra time necessary so you won’t be GUESSING whether your carpets are clean, you’ll KNOW it.
